Hey there Rock Stars! Welcome to the “Story Series”, where all month long I will teach you how to package and present POWERFUL stories to share more about your network marketing company and product.

Today’s topic is: How to Tell a Powerful Company Story! Watch this video first, then read below it for a complete outline on how to package (and practice) your POWERFUL “COMPANY STORY” (*you’ll note a few additional tips than what were mentioned in the video!)=>

Here they are the 5 P’s to talk about when presenting your business:

1) Partnership –talk about the company you’ve joined & why it would be a great for your prospect. Don’t just share features of the company. Share benefits to your prospect, and why they would be a great fit!

2) Products –share your own results and the market potential for them (not ingredients).

3) Programs-share what support will they get from you and the company.

4) Payplan (share how the businesses model works and why network marketing works and how money is made. I don’t share numbers, etc. unless asked. Instead, share how the extra income and incentives could benefit their life).

5) Positioning and Timing-create the urgency as to why the time is now for them to join: “You couldn’t have picked a better time to hear about this…. We are now expanding in your market, and across the country! I’d love for you to take the lead as launch your area! You can also create urgency by sharing new product launches or promotions, and why the time is NOW!

I’ll add in a 6th P—be sure to talk about your prospects benefit and why this is a great opportunity for them! Help them to dream!

Today’s topic is: How to Tell a Powerful Personal Business Story! Watch this video first, then read below it for a complete outline on how to package (and practice) your POWERFUL BUSINESS STORY=>

There’s a saying in our profession: “facts tell, and stories sell”. We can share facts and figures about our business until we’re blue in the face, but something magical happens when people emotionally connect to our stories, and experiences.

When I work with a new distributor on creating their list, and who to share their business with, we also work on what to say. I do an exercise where I have them go through their phone, Facebook, and a memory jogger, and write down their list of names. I then have them star their top candidates, tell me who they are and why they chose them, and we brainstorm on a way to approach them. One of the most meaningful things we can do when prospecting, is share our personal story.

I believe that it’s really important that you take time to work with your team on developing their “personal business story”. Your story about how you found the business and what it is doing for you,  is something you can share at meetings, events, your business launch events, and on calls.

Here is a good format to help you create your story:

1)) Who are you? (Share your background, a little about you, what you do)

2) Why you were looking for opportunity?

3) How did you find your business? Why did you join?

4) What results have you seen/ hope to see?

5) What has excited you the most?

Save the best for last! What are you the most excited about accomplishing? Or if you’ve been in the business, what are your most exciting achievements? Make it meaningful—what will this business do for your family? Here’s an example of a business story:

“I was a teacher by trade, looking for extra income as my job stability was really suffering from the economy. My friend Kris introduced me to the business. What initially attracted me was the ability to supplement my income in part time hours, around the needs of my family and classroom. In very part time hours I have been able to supplement my teaching income. And with my growing business, I’m on track to match my teaching income by the end of the year. This business is providing me the security that our family needs, without having to worry about budget cuts.”

When prospects hear you share your story with conviction that will be what moves them to want to learn more, and find out how it can change their life too. Make sure you smile, exude energy and excitement, and don’t use wimpy words like “I hope” or “I wish”. Use strong statements like “with this business we are planning to….” I highly recommend working on your story as you begin making your calls to people on your list. Send it to your sponsor to review. Practice. Then you’ll be ready to roll.

Hey there Rock Stars!

Sarah Robbins here! I’m a former kindergarten teacher turned top network marketing leader! In my former profession, I would be in school today with my little kiddos, likely sitting in a circle, kicking off “Reading Month” in March! Since I no longer teach in a classroom, but still have the heart of a teacher–I thought we would kick off a “Story Series” here on the blog, each Monday in the month of March. After all, as network marketing professionals, we are paid story tellers!

Over the next few weeks I will teach you how to: craft a powerful product story that will make people want to learn more about your products; share your business story in a way that will make people want to learn more about joining your team; tell your company story in a packaged and professional way; and you’ll learn how to use social media to share your story, reach more people, and accelerate your results! This will be so much fun! Let’s dive right in….

Product Story Outline to Craft Your Story (keep it less than a minute):

1) What was your history or challenge?

2) Who introduced you to your product?

3) What product did you use to achieve your results?

4) What initial results did you see?

5) What is the “Best Part” of your results?

Here’s an example using the above outline:

“I’ve always struggled with acne, blemishes, and breakouts. My kindergarteners used to say “Mrs. Robbins, you have polka-dots on your face!” My mom introduced me to the _______ regimen. I started using it and immediately my swelling went down, the redness went away, and the best part is….today I am “polka-dot free”! Many others are achieving great results with our products too…I would love to tell you more about our products, and make a personal recommendation for you!”

Today concludes the “Love Series” on SarahRobbins.com. And I thought, why not end with a love story?

11 years ago, Phil (Mr. “Rockin Robbins”) and I were paying bills from our quarter jar, wondering how we would be able to afford a wedding (we pulled it off, on a very small budget!) We recently celebrated ten years of marriage, and we decided to recreate the “Day of our Dreams” with those we love.

There is so much to celebrate…because of our network marketing business, our lives have changed for the better. We are now able to live more, give more, and love our lives even more! We decided to host a celebration in honor of 10 years of marriage at our new home–and also give 100 children a brand new home in celebration of love, and in the spirit of giving…

Because of network marketing, we are able to live a life that we truly love–and do amazing things with–and for–the people that we love! It is my heart’s deepest desire that you will find a vehicle or profession that you love to pursue a life that you truly love–so you can live more, give more, and love your life even more! That is why I am so passionate about teaching what we teach–sharing what we share–giving what we give…I guess that is the former kindergarten teacher in me!

 

 

Phil and I want to thank “Team Rockin Robbins”–it’s our rock stars (our team, and our corporate dream team) who make all of this possible–117 little boys now have a new home–and a new life because of YOU! We also want to thank ALL who gave, and all who prayed!

The “LOVE” Series Continues.

We all have a choice to remain rooted and grounded in our responding…

When we get that text that ticks us off; when we get that email that bugs us a bit… we have a choice to REACT or we can choose to RESPOND in love.

Reaction is an emotional decision often commanded by our emotions or exhaustion.

Responding is a thought out reply, emotions aside, leading with logic , love, and level-headedness.

Often times what you are going through is simply a test to see how you will remain rooted in your responding–and is a refining trial for YOU. Situations groom and grow US. Struggles strengthen us, IF we allow them to. When we pass these tests, we can be promoted to new levels of leadership and have a greater measure of influence.

How we treat people can have a great impact on the degree in which we are blessed in our lives. We can’t be rude and inconsiderate and expect to be treated right by others and live in victory. If we want to be promoted at any level, we must be faithful in the platform that we currently have.

I remember a time when my leadership was put under pressure (during a very difficult time of my life)–and through my obedience to God and faithfulness to others, in time I was promoted–and throughout this trial I was protected.

There were people in a position of power who tried to come against our leadership for a season. I felt the urge to react, defend, and explain. But I kept hearing a still voice remind me to “Be still”…to allow God to be my vindicator and to continue to walk in love.

This was a refining process for me–which taught me the importance of responding in love (versus reacting). I grew as a person and leader during this time–and although uncomfortable I was being created into the person and leader I was intended to be. Although I wouldn’t want to go through this again, I wouldn’t trade the situation for how it groomed me and grew me into becoming a better leader, learning how to walk in love and be quick to forgive.

In time, truth was revealed & relationships were healed. A life-changing conversation happened when one person came to us and said “what made all of the difference in the world was seeing how you and your husband responded in love to the situation!” We never gossiped–we never defended (although we could’ve)–instead we prayed behind the scenes, and allowed the process to refine us. We remained rooted and grounded in our responding over time.

Talk about something bad being used for good!

You may be in a situation right now that is grating your last nerve–or turning up feelings of extreme pain and hurt. Do not repay evil with evil. Repay evil with good…

Recently we discussed the story of Joseph (<= click here for a 30 min replay). Although it’s a spiritual teaching, I believe the lessons learned in this story can help many who are in the place of leadership.

There’s a story in the Old Testament of a man named Joseph– if anyone had a right to react and return evil for evil it was him! His brothers hated him so much that they threw him into a pit and were going to kill him, but decided to sell him into slavery instead! Years went by and he endured extreme heartache (being lied about, tormented, and accused). But he kept a good attitude and continued to be blessed! After 13 years of being in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, he was promoted to the second highest position in Egypt!

He was in charge of the food supply when a famine struck and his brothers traveled to Egypt for food for their family. Joseph could have ordered them killed, but instead gave them all the food they needed. Is it any wonder why he was promoted and protected? He knew how to respond in love, and treat people right!

When you bless your enemies, you will never lose! When you continue to respond in love (no matter how difficult) you will always come out greater on top. Respected and protected–and promoted and accepted! A loved leader by many!

Next time you get that text, email, or call–let it sit for a day or two. Wait for the emotions to die down, and the exhaustion to subside. Choose wisely how you respond. It may be the process that has been chosen to promote YOU!

Here’s why I believe Network Marketing truly ROCKS=>

This is a brilliant business model where instead of investing in advertising and celebrity endorsement, companies invest in our success. This vehicle allows us to leverage the integrity of big brands, and the time, talent and resources of our corporate home offices.

Direct selling is a simple business model that doesn’t require a college degree, huge overhead, employees, or a brick and mortar shop. It’s a scalable business, and it’s just plain smart. The Direct Selling Association recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary, so it’s a tried and true business model that’s proven to be timeless.

Network marketing provides a turnkey business where you start at a low cost. Little to no risk. It carries many incredible benefits such as: Freedom and Flexibility, Financial Opportunity, Fun and Friendship, and Fabulous Opportunities For Growth!

Let’s talk about that…

Freedom and Flexibility-In our profession you can work your business part time, any time! There’s no commute to work. You create your hours and block out the important things in your life and plan around them. Essentially, you design a professional life that fits around the rest of your life. Often times started as a plan B, it can easily become a plan A. I started my business to supplement my teacher’s salary, and I was able to build a business beyond my wildest dreams!

Financial Opportunity– We leverage our upfront investment of time and resources, and have the opportunity for an exponential return. We get paid to talk about our transformative products and our award winning business model. We get paid to talk about what we love– and we can earn amazing bonuses, competitive commissions, and incredible incentives! This is the company’s way of rewarding us for a job well done. We don’t just get paid, we also get recognized!

Fun and Friendship-What I love most about our profession is having the opportunity to build success, all while helping others to succeed! We celebrate our success together in countless trips and trainings around the world! One of the greatest rewards of building my business has been the friendships I’ve made.

Power of Duplication in Network Marketing and How to Start New Distributors POWERFULLY:

Welcome to week 4 of our New Year kick of series to “Rock Your Network Marketing Business this year″. Week 1 we discussed Planning and Goal Setting. Week 2 we discussed Promoting Product. Week 3 we discussed Power Prospecting and How to Rock Your Recruiting. This week we talk about how to Powerfully Launch New Distributors, and the Power of Duplication.

Whether you’re new and want tips to help you launch powerfully–or you’re a leader wanting to refine your skills on starting “newbies” strong, this one is for YOU!

SUMMARY: Here are “5 Firsts” To Focus On When Starting A Newbie Strong (or to start yourself strong)

1) Schedule an enrollment appointment so a new distributor understands the best options for enrolling (benefits of suggested product packages, auto-ships, etc). Then do a website walkthrough, so they know how to place an order and where to find valuable resources, training, etc.

HOMEWORK: teach them how to create their prospecting list (who to invite to take a look at their new business–you will discuss how during their first training).

2) On one of your first trainings, review the prospecting list, and teach inviting language, so they can begin inviting prospects to calls with you, coffee, meetings or events.

CHALLENGE:  Make a list of 200 people you want to share your new business with. Go through your phone and Facebook A-Z! Reach out to those 200 people this week (via FB messenger, text, email, or call)! Expect “no!” If you offered 200 people any job, only 10% or less would take interest. Less than that would take action! That’s why there is power in working through the numbers. Be sure to follow up asking “did you get my message? Just following up…” Sometimes it takes a few touches.

3) Launch their business with a live event! If local, do it with them. If not, use virtual technology like Skype, Facetime, or Google Hangouts!

CHALLENGE: Schedule 3 launch events in your first and second week. Invite your friends to ALL 3! This gives your friends three different times to attend. We will do the presentation for all of them… all you have to do is INVITE!

4) Launch them via social media (as referenced in the video above). Continue to use social media to generate interest. (*watch my Social Media Part 1 & 2 Videos for complete social media training).

CHALLENGE: One post per day (which keeps leads coming your way)–share “stories”–before and afters, testimonials, success stories of the business and product, and press!

5) Daily activity! Teach them: a few new contacts per day keeps leads coming your way! Keep “exciting and inviting”! Then stay plugged into team systems, trainings, etc.

CHALLENGE: Reach out to 3-5 NEW people a day, and follow up with at least one per day!

BONUS TIP: Check in with your newbies often asking “Who’s your hottest prospect? How can I help you reach out them (or close them)?”

Power Prospecting and Lead Generation in Network Marketing!

Welcome to week 3 of our New Year kick of series to “Rock Your Network Marketing Business”. Week 1 we discussed Planning and Goal Setting. Week 2 we discussed Product Promoting. This week we talk about one of my favorite subjects (I’m a top recruiter in my company)…POWER PROSPECTING and how to rock your recruiting!

SUMMARY

Here are 10 ways that I love to ROCK my recruiting (language and tips are found in the video above):

1) Work your contact list- reach out to people on your phone and Facebook. Find a personal way to connect, then transition…”I see you’re in Chicago. I’m sure you’ve built a great network there. I’m actually expanding my business there. I would love to tell you what I’m up to, in hopes that you could connect me to some great people, and perhaps give me a few pointers. Can I treat you to coffee (or a virtual coffee) and share more?”

2) Referral Rewards Program- if someone is not personally interested say “I’ve developed a great ‘referral rewards’ program. If you’re willing to help me spread the word, I’m happy to give you a finders fee or free product (or my discount on the product) as a thank you”! *this is not a company sponsored program–as I share in the video, this is something I do on my own!

3) Personal Launch Events- host events and ask people to host events for you. Say “My business is expanding in your area, and I would love to meet new people. If you’d be willing to host an event for me, I will do all the work, and throw in some free product (or offer my discount on the product) as a thank you.”

4) Team Events- Coffee & Conversation Events, Customer Appreciation Events, even Vendor Events can be powerful too (the video above gives great tips and ideas!)

5) Prospecting When Out & About- compliment, and ask questions to engage in conversation. Simple conversation starter examples: “Cute kids. How old are they?” “Love that bag. Where did you get it?” “Great service! Do you love working here? Because we are looking for people like you for our business…” When they smile and start talking, it’s an open door for a conversation!

6) Network with other entrepreneurs- find a commonality and reason for reaching out to other business owners in the area…”I just love your website, I wanted to reach out and see who did it. I’m also looking to connect with other business owners in the area, and see how might support each other’s business growth. Would you be willing to meet for coffee?”

7) Networking Groups–networking groups are a great way to get and give professional referrals!

8) Social Media–it’s all about telling stories (watch my Social Media Part 1 & 2 Videos for complete social media training).

9) Call Your Customers!–“I’m calling to check in and see how you’re loving your products? I’m not sure if I mentioned this, but as a distributor of the products I get a deep discount. I was wondering if I could share with you more about this program so you could get a discount too–and possibly earn them for free or a little extra money by simply sharing your results with others!”

10) Revisit Previous Prospects–Whenever something is new revisit them! “The New Year is here, and I’m not sure if you’ve been thinking about the business at all, but I sure have been thinking about you. It’s the perfect time to take another peek, here’s why…..” (*share what’s new and exciting in your company!)

How To ROCK YOUR NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS in 2016 (Session 2)- Promote Your Product and Profit In Network Marketing

Hey there rock stars, it’s Sarah “Rockin” Robbins–network marketing leader and author of the best-seller “Rock Your Network Marketing Business!”

This week we focus on PROFITING WITH PRODUCT SALES (watch the video, then check the notes below for a summary, and a BONUS TIP! Don’t mind the video says 2015, oops!)=>

SUMMARY

Here are 5 ways that I love to ROCK my customer base (language and tips are found in the video above):

1) Personal events: host regular events in your home. Ask friends to host one for you as you “expand your business in their area”.

We aren’t a party plan company, but when I started my business, I hosted some events in my home to share the products and the opportunity.  I knew if I had limited hours, I would rather spend 1 hour of my time in front of 10 or more people, opposed to talking to one person on the phone for an hour! It was a great way to build my business fast! When I saw the success, I began calling my friends and family saying, “I have a business that’s growing in your area, and I would love to meet new people. Would you be willing to host an event for me? You invite your friends, I will do all the work. I’ll even throw in free product (or my discount on the product) as a thank you”! This expanded my audience, increased my exposure, and helped me to secure more customers and leads for my business.

2) Do team events: Coffee & Conversations or Cocktails & Conversations. Customer Appreciation Events or Vendor Events…

Once a month my local team and I did Friends, Family, and Customer Appreciation Events. We would do them at a winery and do a “leave the aging to wine and cheese” event or a “cocktails and conversations”. Some are having them in home. We would focus on sharing product stories, doing product demos, and doing fun drawings. And of course, we mentioned the opportunity and shared our business success stories too! Our friends, family, and customers would come and bring their friends! These fun events would pack the room for us & give great results!

Tradeshows- when I started my business I looked for every occasion to get in front of a lot of people. I would go online and search for events at schools, churches, local networking events, etc. If the booth was under $100, I was “in”! I would have a raffle to collect leads for my email list, draw them in through the raffle and have quality conversations, and always generated product sales and interested prospects for the business.

3) Gift it–Raffle it–Auction it–at every occasion.

I am always looking for ways to get our products in people’s hands—whether it be the holidays, someone’s birthday, or as a thank you. I know if I can get them on the product, they’re hooked! Plus it’s an open door to a conversation about my business in the future when I follow up with them!

4) Leverage Social Media (get my FREE social media training for network marketers HERE).

5) Sample it–and don’t forget to collect digits and FOLLOW UP!

When you’re out, give compliments, ask a lot of questions, and network! Have a normal conversation. Before you leave: “I’ve loved chatting with you today and want to leave you a little gift. I wanted to share some products with you that I am in love with! I know you’ll love them too. There are instructions on how to use them. If you promise you will use them, I promise I will follow-up and stay in touch! Today is Sunday. I will call you on Tuesday to see how you love them. What time works best for you?” Exchange info, schedule a time to follow up, and FOLLOW UP!

BONUS TIP:

Develop your own “referral rewards” program- that rewards your customers and contacts for referring people on to you for the products, or the opportunity—or even if they’d be willing to host an event for you to help you to expand your audience.

I’d be sure to tell your customers and contacts that you’re always looking for referrals for the business, and for people who’d like to join the on the products…and then tell them what you’re willing to offer for their referrals, whether it be a small product that you can fulfill through your personal order, or whether it be cash back from your commission as a “finders fee”.

And then let them know you’re expanding in their area, and would love to get to know more people. Say something like: “I’m expanding my business in your area and would love to meet more people! Would you be willing to host an event for me? It would just take an hour of your time, you invite people, I’ll do the work, and I’m happy to throw in some of your favorite products as a thank you.” If they host that event, when people are signing up, another trick is to ask them: “Are these folks coming in under you or under me? Now’s your chance to join me”! My business partner Karen did this and developed a whole new leg in her organization!

Use your discretion on how much you’re willing to give for referrals who join you on the products or the business, or if someone hosts an event for you—but don’t forget, referrals can be very rewarding! Some of my strongest consultants came from referral sources! In fact, my personal business partners Emily & Tim are both top leaders in our company. I met Emily through my sister Emily. My sister wasn’t interested in our business, but I asked her if I could share more with her about what I was doing, in hopes that she could lead me to someone. I further explained there would be referral rewards for her if she did! She agreed, I shared more, and I gave her some ideas of what to email out and a few brief blurbs to post on FB. One day, she posted a few sentences on FB about my business and my success, asking people if they wanted to learn more. A gal at our gym messaged her back, came to one of our meetings, and joined me! Today, she’s risen to the top of our leader board, has earned over $10,000 in bonuses with the company on top of her commissions, and also served on our company’s advisory board! The best part? Emily and Tim have become two of our best friends!

As you can see, referrals can be very rewarding! So get out there and share your rockin referral rewards with everyone!

SUMMARY/ GOAL SETTING SHEETS:

Get your goals in place for the year!!! Focus on: FAMILY GOALS, FRIENDSHIP GOALS, FAITH GOALS, FINANCIAL/ GIVING GOALS, FITNESS/ HEALTH GOALS, and FIELD GOALS (business, career, ministry, etc).

Similar to weight loss, it is not enough to set a goal! Get an accountability partner (as suggested in the video above), who is working toward similar goals in your company. Agree to check in regularly!

Repeat this process of goal setting (and comparing growth month by month) yourself, and with the rock stars on your team. I do this the first week of every month myself, and with my personally-sponsored leaders.
