Think social media is a fad? Think again!

Social Media is now the #1 activity on the web! How big are these networks? As of January 2013, the five largest social networks based on active monthly users were: Facebook (1 billion), YouTube (800 million) and Google+ (343 million) followed by Twitter and LinkedIn with 200 million active monthly users each. (TECHi)

If you’re not using social media (or using social media RIGHT) you are missing out on business. Plain and simple. How do I know? 93% of marketers use social media for business. (WordPress Hosting SEO). Recently Facebook traffic surpassed Google traffic, which means that people are searching out their favorite brands via social sites!

I recently went to research spray tanning venues, and found myself on facebook, searching out different Facebook pages, what they were posting, and what people were saying (after all, who wants to look oompa loompa orange after a spray tan, right?! ) *smile*

Social media has been a huge source of lead generation for me because I use it as a tool for business, consistently. When I started my business I was shy, broke, and all of my friends were young and broke like me. So I quickly realized that I had to build a network–FAST! The quickest way? Via social media and networking. Over the past 5 years I rose to the #1 spot in my company, and now have a network that grows exponentially by the day. I now earn a 7-figure annual residual income that grows by the day.

In honor of our 55,000 (and growing) fans on our Business Fan Page I decided to to a 55k Giveaway where everyone wins–and share with you everything I know to help you ROCK your network marketing business via a very first SOCIAL MEDIA SEMINAR FOR NETWORK MARKETING LEADERS of it’s kind. “Social media has been the main method that helped me go from being a shy teacher in my 20’s with NO NETWORK (who used to be the “”least highest earner” in my company), to rocking to the TOP of recruiting in my company, earning a 6 figure per MONTH income by the age of 29, (and becoming the #1 earner in my company). I want to teach you how! “

-Sarah Robbins, Network Marketing Leader

Why Network Marketing ROCKS!

I believe that network marketing is one of the smartest business models on the planet! It is a model where it takes ordinary people like me and helps them to achieve extraordinary results! Where else could a formerly shy teacher in her 20’s compress a 30-50 year career into 3-5 years and elevate to success that others only dream of, and most people can’t even conceive! I’ve fallen head over heels in love with our profession, and if I had to recreate my wealth all over again, I’d do it in network marketing!

16.001

Here are a few reasons why I am in love with this profession–

This is a brilliant business model where instead of investing in advertising and celebrity endorsement, companies invest in our success. It allows us to leverage the integrity of big brands and the time, talent and resources of major corporations. Starts up costs are low. It’s a simple business model that doesn’t require a college degree, overhead, employees, or a brick and mortar shop. It’s a scalable business, and it’s just plain smart. The Direct Selling Association recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary, so it’s a tried and true business model that’s proven to be solid. Network marketing is not going anywhere.

Network marketing provides a turnkey business where you start at a low cost, it carries little to no risk, and there’s no experience necessary to begin. It carries many incredible benefits such as: Freedom and Flexibility, Financial Opportunity, Fun and Friendship, and Fabulous Opportunities For Growth! Let’s talk about that!

Freedom and Flexibility—In Network Marketing you don’t trade hours for dollars, or your time for someone else’s money. You can work your business part time, any time! There’s no commute to work. You create your hours and block out the important things in your life and plan around them. Essentially, you design a professional life that fits around the rest of your life. Often times started as a plan B, it can easily become a plan A. I started my business to supplement my teacher’s salary, and I was able to generate wealth beyond my wildest dreams!

Many people are looking for extra earning potential due to the current economic climate.  This puts them in a bind, as many are surviving on multi- income households. I want you to be aware that our profession can provide another alternative. You don’t have to go back to school, or take on another full time job. Network marketing allows you to choose a dream life over a dream job! All the while, you can be fully present in your family’s life.

Financial Opportunity– Network Marketing is one of the best choices if you’re looking to create unlimited earning potential but have little upfront money. We leverage our upfront investment, and have the opportunity for an exponential return on investment. Network marketing allows you to create passive residual income, and get paid over and over again for work you began upfront.

If you give your business enough time and effort you are able to compress a 30-50 year career into 3-5 years! Your business can lead to ongoing residual income for you. If you build it right, you can get paid on the royalties or residual income forevermore! Our business model provides true leverage, which gives you security. Wealth is created through leverage. It is an incredible financial vehicle that allows you to pursue all of your life’s goals and dreams.

In network marketing, we also turn expenses into an income while buying from our own product store. You can share your success with your product or service with others. This allows you to make money or save money. You will get paid to talk about your transformative products or services and our award winning business model. You get paid to talk about what you love, and you can earn amazing bonuses, competitive commissions, and incredible incentives! This is the company’s way of rewarding you for a job well done. In network marketing, you don’t just get paid, you also get recognized!

Fun and Friendship—In our business model, you choose those you partner with in business. You have the chance to build your success, all while helping others to succeed! . You celebrate your success together in countless trips and trainings around the world! One of the greatest rewards of building my business has been the friendships I’ve developed.

Fabulous Opportunities For Personal and Professional Growth–You are in business for yourself, and not by yourself. In our business model you receive incredible training through your company and team training systems that are provided. You also receive incredible personal development opportunities so you can grow as a person, which helps to support you inside and outside of our business model. This leads to incredible life and leadership skills. You grow in confidence and communication! What is the best part of all? You earn as you learn! The personal and professional growth opportunities definitely outweigh the paycheck for me!

To sum it up all up in one word—Network Marketing provides freedom! It’s changed my life. Where else could a formerly shy teacher in her 20’s earn a six figure MONTHLY income in just 5 years? That’s the power of our profession! Network marketing rocks….

When I started my business, a small article was forwarded to me that made a BIG difference in my business. After you read it I will tell you the real lessons I learned that led me to seven-figure success in network marketing=>

THE PRICE OF THE PROMISE: The Power Of Network Marketing

Mark Yarnell, a minister in a small town in Texas, was headed for bankruptcy and just about to lose his car and home. He looked for a way out and discovered network marketing. Luckily, he had a wise sponsor.

The sponsor gave Mark “THE PRICE OF PROMISE”.
“This business can set you free financially in one to three years.”
But he also gave him “THE PRICE”. “To succeed, you will have to face and conquer 4 major enemies.”

Mark said, “It’s a deal.”

Mark began by inviting 200 friends over to his house to watch a video. 80 said “No, not interested”

– Mark had encountered ENEMY #1: Rejection.

He thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I’ve got 120 people still coming over.” Guess what?

– He had just encountered ENEMY #2: Deception.

Mark thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I’ve got 70 people who watched the tape.” Guess what? 57 said “Not Interested”.

– He had just encountered ENEMY #3: Apathy.

Undaunted, Mark thought, “No problem. 13 people signed up.” Guess what? 12 of them dropped out of the business shortly thereafter.

– He had just encountered ENEMY #4: Attrition.

Attrition had left Mark with just one serious associate. But that single distributor earns Mark over $50,000 per month.

Mark Yarnell’s story is NOT Unique!

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers – several distributors who had failed and showed the garages full of products they couldn’t sell. During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home.
He was asked, “Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What’s your secret?”

He replied, “There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, ‘No’ and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire.”
Like Mark Yarnell, Bill worked through the numbers.

Jason Boreyko, former co-founder of New Vision, told this story. When he was a distributor in Matol, he signed up 50 people. He heard a lot of “No’s” on the way to those 50. Jason took one man, who he knew would be terrific in the business to lunch, told him about the business and the man said “No.” Jason took the man to lunch again the next month and told him the updates.
Once again the man said, “No.” Jason sent him more information and took him to lunch again the next month. And again the man said, “No.” That went on for six months. The seventh month, something had changed for the man, and he said, “Yes.”
That man made Jason over one million dollars. Jason also worked through his numbers.

According to Richard Poe in Wave Three while starting Amway, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, America’s eleventh richest people, recruited 500 people. 495 dropped out. The five that didn’t quit built Amway. All $7 billion of Amway’s business was built under those 5 people. Jay and Rich had to work through their numbers. There are many similar stories.

Jeff, the top money earner in Mannatech, signed up 27 people his first month. One might think that he is especially talented at sponsoring. Actually, Jeff will be the first to tell you that he is not talented at all. In fact, he feels that he did very poorly. To recruit those 27, Jeff talked to 2,000 people that first month. And of the 27, the only one who did anything significant with the business was Ray Gebauer, who has more than half of Mannatech in his downline.

Jeff’s word to you is that the numbers never lie. Pick your goal and then get into massive action. If you talk to enough people, you will make it!

Here’s the lesson: Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Are you willing to find out what your own set of odds is? Remember that the numbers never fail you. Despite where you are in your skill level, your success is assured if you talk to enough people. And as your skill improves, so will your odds. I found this to be true myself. I was a formerly shy teacher in her 20’s with no network when I started my business…

Finding My Success Through Prospecting

I’ve probably talked to thousands of people since I started my business over 5 years ago. I’ve had over 150 people join me as business partners. Of those, I have about 30 people still working our business at a moderate pace. Of those, I have 10 top leaders in our pay plan at this time. Of those, about 3 people account for a good majority of my income. What happened to the rest? As a teacher, I pride myself on education, but I quickly realized you can’t motivate people who are unwilling to do what it takes to succeed. They need to want it for themselves more than you want it for them. I can’t take credit for people’s success or failure. I am only responsible to get them off to a great start. People will work at varying paces. Some people order product, some occasionally promote it, and some even enter into the “witness protection program”—they buy a kit and disappear! As you can see, there is power in working through the numbers. If you want to be successful in network marketing, you will never stop prospecting.

Is It A Numbers Game?

I’ve found the same stats and averages to be pretty similar industry wide, as it relates to how many you must personally talk to and sponsor before you strike gold. In fact, I was invited on stage at a big event in our industry called the Mastermind Event, along with several top income earners. We all represented different products, and our companies had different pay plans. Some of us had a few years experience in the profession, some had decades of experience. We were each asked how many people we’ve personally sponsored in our business, and of those how many account for 80% or more of our income. The results were very similar.

We had been in our business anywhere between 5-25+ years. We each sponsored anywhere between 50-150+ over time. Most of us had 80% of our income coming from anywhere between 1-3 legs, or leaders! I’ve seen this exercise done at many events in our profession since, and the results are pretty similar.

What does that mean? The major growth of your organization may be tied to just a few people too, but never know what your personal set off odds will be until after you succeed. You don’t know how many conversations you’ll have, or how many people will join you before you find your power partners, or leaders! So get ready to talk it up! The more people you share with, the better your odds of finding your power partners!

The Cure to What Ails You In Your Business

The cure to what ails you in your business is your personal activity. Don’t blame your team on your progress or pace. Take personal responsibility for your activity, and respect their effort and pace. Never stop recruiting new customers and business partners. Focus on daily activity to progress towards success. My rule for myself is “5 NEW contacts per day keeps leads coming my way. “ If I’m home, I’m making 5 calls to people on my contact list. If I’m out, I am handing out 5 business cards and having conversations with people I meet. I’m not done until I’ve made those connections, and continued to work through my numbers, which in turn, increases my odds for success.

What Are Your Odds?

Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Would you be willing to hear many “no’s” to sign up 100+ people until you “strike gold”, and find 3 major producers like I did?

Mark Yarnell’s odds were 1 out of 50. (Jeff’s were really 1 out of 2000.) Would you be willing to go through 200 people to find the 1 who will make you $50,000 a month? Or go through 200 people to become a millionaire? Or hear uncounted “No’s” to sign up 50 people to find a million dollar person? I hope you will. It’s easier when you know the odds up front.

But here’s the catch: You have your own set of odds and you won’t know what they are until AFTER YOU’VE SUCCEEDED. So if you’ve gone through 50 or 100 people and you haven’t found 1 serious person yet, you can either give up and assume the business doesn’t work or recognize that you are working through your own numbers.

Are you willing to find out what your own set of odds is?

That means that you must pay the price for freedom. Remember that the numbers never fail you. Despite where you are in your skill level, your success is assured if you talk to enough people. And as your skill improves, so will your odds.

There is no such thing as luck in this industry. Winning big is a matter of being willing to pay the price. Are you? Your future is in your hands! The choices which you make today will determine the course of your entire future.

Rock Star Recruiting and Power Prospecting To Design a Life You Love in Network Marketing- by #1 Earner Sarah Robbins

I’m a formerly shy teacher by trade, who was living in one of the more depressed economies in the country. I had just moved, just married, just began my brand new job teaching kindergarten. I was in my 20’s. While I loved teaching, we were facing financial difficulties, paying bills with change.  I was facing the loss of my job and our first home. This caused me to look for extra income, and my search led me to network marketing. When I began my business I was broke (and most of my friends were young and broke like me). I didn’t really have a network. From the outside looking in, it may not have appeared that we would have a very high “survival rate”, but my mother and I went on to eventually become the first two million dollar circle achievers in the company, and at the age of 29, I was announced as the first six figure per month earner by our company president.

My mom and I were the first consultants in the company, so we had no upline leading and guiding us. We did what was natural for us, and that was to sell some product. I was earning a few hundred to a thousand dollars residual income. This money kept coming in over and over again for work I did once, as people were re-ordering. This was great, considering I had very part time hours to put into my business. My mom (who’s my upline) loved it because she was making a great residual income from my sales too! We felt like we were on to something, and that this business opportunity was our best kept secret! So one day, my mom called me and said “Sarah, this opportunity is so huge! Let’s not tell anyone! Let’s keep this our own little secret!” (We didn’t have a fully executed compensation plan at the time, so we figured we would just continue to sell). How many of you know, in a business of networking that’s the last thing you want to do? But, being a good daughter I said “OK”!  I committed to just continue selling products! Now of course, that didn’t last long. We eventually “saw the light” through training much like this. We became students of the profession. I read many stories of top earners in our profession.  I quickly learned that all of the six and seven-figure earners leveraged their time and increased their income by building a team. ONE SIMPLE SHIFT. When I made the shift from product sales to power prospecting for the business, I watched my check go from a few thousand dollars to over ten thousand dollars per month, in just a few months. That’s the power of prospecting.

What is prospecting? Different versions of the dictionary define it as “looking for gold”. Prospecting is the process of talking to people, in hopes that you will find some who are interested in joining you on your products, or in your business. In the process of these conversations, you’ll “sift through” a lot of people to find a few who will join you. Then, you’ll have a lot of people join you, of who will work at varying paces. Keep in mind, it only takes a few “power partners” to change your life! That’s your “gold”! Remember, you may have to talk to a lot to find those few, much like sifting for gold. If I told you that you had three gold bricks in your back yard, would you continue to dig until you find them? I would!

I’m living proof of this concept. I’ve been sifting for a long time. I’ve probably talked to thousands of people since I started my business over 5 years ago. I’ve had over 100 people join me as business partners. If you want to be successful in network marketing, you’ll be sifting and sorting until you find your key leaders. You will never stop prospecting!

I’ve found the same stats and averages to be pretty similar industry wide, as it relates to how many you must personally talk to and sponsor before you strike gold. In fact, I was invited on stage at a major event in our profession, along with several top income earners. We all represented different products, and our companies had different pay plans. Some of us had a few years experience in the profession, some had decades of experience. We were each asked how many people we’ve personally sponsored in our business, and of those how many account for 80% or more of our income. The results were very similar.

I’ve seen this exercise done at many events in our profession since, and the results are pretty similar.

What does that mean? The major growth of your organization may be tied to just a few people too, but never know what your personal set off odds will be until after you succeed. You don’t know how many conversations you’ll have, or how many people will join you before you find “gold”! So get ready to talk it up! The more people you share with, the better your odds of finding your power partners!

The cure to what ails you in your business is your personal activity. It’s all about power prospecting (having conversations about your product and opportunity) which leads to rock star recruiting! Focus on daily activity to progress towards success. My rule for myself is “5 NEW contacts per day keeps leads coming my way. “ If I’m home, I’m making 5 NEW calls to people on my contact list. If I’m out, I am handing out 5 business cards with sample packs and having conversations with people I meet. I’m not done until I’ve made those connections, and continued to work through my numbers, which in turn, increases my odds for success.

Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Would you be willing to hear many “no’s” to sign up 100+ people until you “strike gold”, and find 3 major producers like I did? You have your own set of odds and you won’t know what they are until after you’ve succeeded. If you haven’t achieved the level of success you desire yet, you can give up and assume the business model doesn’t work (but it magically worked for me and others). Or you can accept the fact that you’re working through your odds. Don’t give up until you succeed!  Practice practice practice!

Talking to people is now what you do for a living, so it must become part of your lifestyle. The more people you talk to, the faster you’ll grow, and the farther you’ll go in your business. With practice comes confidence. When your confidence increases, so does your set of odds.

I want you to learn to take the pressure off when you’re prospecting. Think of it this way—you are just sharing and inviting. You are sifting and sorting. I don’t want you to be emotionally connected to the outcome. Think of yourself like a waiter or a waitress pouring a cup of coffee. A server is not offended when you say “no” to the coffee. They keep offering it to everyone. Take all emotions out of it, and if people say no, keep pouring. Some people say no now, but may change their mind later. Always revisit them later. Ask them to be your customer, and keep pouring!

As you share with people, keep an open mind. Everyone can plug into your business as what I call one of the 3 C’s: They could be a consultant (distributor) and build the business. They could be a customer, and enjoy the products. They could be a connector, and learn what you do, and connect you to people who may be interested—but they’ll only make those connections if they know what you do! Be sure you’re sharing with everyone!

WHERE DO YOU FIND THE PEOPLE TO PROSPECT? This is the #1 question I get from new distributors. The truth is, you are surrounded by people—the question is are you willing to share with them? Here is a list of a few ways that I like to find prospects for my business, along with language to reach out:

Revisit your customers– “How are you loving your products? I’m not sure if I ever shared, but as a distributor of the products I get a great discount. I would love to get you on a program where you can get my wholesale pricing too, and possibly earn your products for free or make a little money by sharing them with others. Do you have a few minutes where I can share more?” (Then, share your business, and distributor discounts and benefits.)

Revisit past prospects or former business builders whenever something is “new”—”I know the timing wasn’t right before, but if ever there’s a time to take another peek at the company, the time is now. Going into fall, business is booming as kids are back to school and we are back in business big time, followed by the boom of the holiday season—plus new products and promotions were recently launched. I wanted to revisit and see if the time is right to take another look. I would hate for you to miss out.” (Share what’s new and exciting in your company.)

Lifestyle Networking–Look for ways to engage in conversation when you’re out. Give someone a compliment.  Ask a lot of questions. (“Great service. Do you love your job?” or  ”Cute kids. Where do they go to school?” etc.)  Then leave them with a sample. “I’ve loved chatting with you today. I would love to leave you with this gift (tell them more about the sample, and what it does.) I promise you’ll love it. If you promise you’ll try it, I promise I’ll follow up!” Get their name, number; ask if they are on Facebook and friend them there. Tell them what time you’ll call, and send them a message to remind them. When you follow up: “How did you love the product? Before I tell you more about it, I would love to tell you more about what I do!”

Parties/ Virtual Parties– Reach out to your friends and ask them to host an event for you: “My business is building in your area. I’d love to meet new people. Would you be willing to host an event for me? You invite the people, I’ll do all the work, and throw in some free product as a thank you!” Share the products and your business.

Social Media– we are paid storytellers. Mix up your personal and inspirational posts with a little bit of business every few days: lifestyle posts, welcoming to new distributors, or shout outs to people who made an achievement to edify that person, encourage your team, and engage and interest your online audience. Share product tips and testimonials, along with before and after’s. Share business success stories of people in the company.

Networking groups or chamber events- create strategic business relationships that allow you to meet others so you can help each other grow your businesses. I met one of my top leaders Stacey when I set up a booth at a women’s networking event in California. She was looking for a home based opportunity, approached me, and was one of my first leaders in business.

Events-Whether it’s a cocktail mixer, or a holiday event, when people surround you, it’s a great opportunity to collect contact information and connect with them later. Ask them a lot of questions. Get to know them better. Ask what they do. When asked about what you do: “We’re here to enjoy the party tonight.  I would love to tell you more.  <Let me quickly get your contact information> <What’s your email?> “As we expand here in <city> I’m always looking for people to join us.  I’ll give you a call early next week and tell you a little more.  You may or may not have a personal interest, but maybe you could lead me to just the right person.  I’m looking for referrals.”

People who provide you services—Think about who you’ve been supporting for years (hairdresser, nail tech, realtor, etc.) Approach them and say, “I’ve loved supporting your business for years, and now I’m hoping I can share with you my new business. I’d love for you to refer me on!”

How about people who give you great service at a restaurant, or store: “Thank you for your great service. I am looking for people like you for my business. Can we exchange information? I would love to set a time to chat, and tell you who I’m looking for, and more about what I do”.

Traveling—I love to strike up conversation while traveling. I ask people where they are going, and why they are traveling. When people ask where I’m going, I tell them where, and that I’m expanding my business there! They typically ask me what I do, which is an open door to share. I always exchange information and follow up.

Creating Your List & Contact People You Know!- Go through your phone and Facebook contacts– is it possible there are people there that you haven’t reached out to yet? Call them: “I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I know you’ve built an incredible network in Chicago. I’m not sure if I mentioned this, but I am building my business there and I immediately thought of you because I know how well networked and respected you are there. I’m hoping I could share more about what we’re doing, and who we’re looking to partner with as we expand there, and see if this is a good fit for anyone you know in the area. I’d love to pick your brains and get ideas of how to expand my business there. Do you have just a few minutes so I could share more?”

After you share more, share your story (how you found the company and why you love it—and what it’s going to do for you)—then share your leader’s success story, and invite them to hear more from them. Third party validation and social proof is powerful: “I’m new, and still learning. I’d love for you to hear from my business partner. She’ll be able to share more and answer your questions”. Invite them on a 3-way call or to coffee with your sponsor, or to the next meeting or event.

This is the exact approach that was used to recruit one of our company’s rock stars Stacey!  My mom and I used to work for her. Stacey and her husband own several successful businesses in Chicago. We both thought of her several times and never called her. The chances are, if you think someone is great, someone else does too. Eventually someone will call them, and in this case, they did! Rose out of Chicago beat us to it! She used a referral-based approach, complimenting Stacey, building on her credibility saying something simple like: “Stacey. I know you’ve built several successful businesses in Chicago, and I know you’re well networked in the Chicagoland area. I respect you. I am building a business in Chicago too. I was wondering if I could treat you to coffee, share with you what I’m doing, and pick your brain on ideas of how to grow this. I’d also like to see if you know people who you think may be interested.”

Stacey met Rose for coffee, came with a list of hundreds of names she was ready to give Rose as referrals, and when she heard the opportunity she decided to come to a meeting to hear more for herself. I happened to be hosting the meeting that night, and in walked Stacey! My stomach hit the floor! She joined us!  Stacey ended up being the top recruiter in the company that year!  She just earned her company car, and I have no doubt she will be a million dollar earner someday too.

Don’t pre-judge anyone. You don’t know what their hopes, dreams, desires, and their financial situations are. Usually the most well-connected, successful, busy people get it first, and they run with it! It’s just our job to share, and it’s their job to decide. Remember, if we share what we’re doing with everyone, they can all plug in: as a customer, consultant, or to help us in creating new connections! But they can only do that if they know what you’re doing and if you share your story with them!

PRACTICING, POWER PROSPECTING AND CONSISTENCY IS KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS!

I want you to commit to a minimum of 5 years in your business. Take the time to learn how to powerfully prospect, and eventually you too will become a rock star recruiter. Think of it this way:

This business is a lot like rolling a snowball uphill. When you start, you’re at the bottom of the hill with a tiny little snowball. As you share your business with more people who join you on the products or in your opportunity the snowball slowly begins to grow. However, you sometimes feel like you’re exerting all the effort as you are trekking uphill. Sometimes you feel like you’re working full time hours for less than minimum wage! This is because you haven’t reached the top of the hill yet. If you keep going and you keep sharing you will make it to the top. When you do, you can let that snowball soar down the other side. This happens when your team is building so big that snowball collects it’s own snow, and duplication happens. This is when you see momentum take place! It rolls faster and faster downhill, collecting its own snow. This is when you begin earning more money than you’ve ever dreamed in less time than most would think was possible. Whatever you do, don’t quit. You can make it to the top of the hill!

I recently read that as many as 95 percent of those who remain in this industry for 10 years or longer working steadily at building their groups reach their highest level of pay in their respective business.

If there’s one thing that I know for sure about success, is that it begins with a decision to be successful, a commitment to seeing it through, and you just can’t quit. Early on when we started our business with no training, no websites, and no mentoring at the time, we made a decision to do whatever it takes! In my opinion, that is the greatest factor that leads to success–your decision. Whether you think you can or think you’re can’t you’re right! So make a decision, be relentless, and be committed to do whatever it takes!  Rock on Rock stars—go for YOUR gold!

I recently conquered my #1 fear=> my fear of heights! I went zip lining this weekend for 3 hours, via 9 lines. Each line brought a new level of confidence as the guide talked me through, encouraged me, and gave me new tips and skills before I tackled each. By the end, I had a new level of confidence! This made me think–imagine the real fears your team members may have–call reluctance, approaching a prospect…. YOU are their guide. If you work closely with them through each contact, offering encouragement, and tips before their initial calls, each call will come with more confidence. And as their confidence increases, so will their success! Watch this video, then leave me some ♥ “love”=>

Vision Boards and Setting Goals For MLM Success, Networking Marketing and Direct Selling Success

What  you see is what you believe— put your goals before your eyes, secure it in your mind, and move forward toward the victory today!

I coach my leaders to create visual reminders while goal setting. I have a goal board for all of the things in my life I’m working toward and all of the things I’m praying for. You can create a constant visual reminder by taking a snapshot of what you’re working toward, or who you’re working for, and put it on a goal board. Or, save the pictures on the home screen of your smartphone (then, each time you pick up the phone for a prospecting call and it seems to weigh a thousand pounds it will motivate you). Paste pictures in your planner, so when you look at your planner for your long day’s agenda, you are motivated to take action and forge ahead! If you’re running for a trip, put a picture of that place where you can see it daily! If it’s a company car, get to a local dealership, take your picture of yourself in that car and post it so it serves as a daily reminder of what you’re working toward (not to mention, it’s a great way to prospect at the dealership as you share about your “free company car” you’re working toward, and imagine the buzz you can create on social media as you “get fitted for your free company car”!)

When you visualize something and focus on it daily, it will increase your belief, and it will keep you committed.  One of the keys to achieving a goal is to share it with someone, whether it is your spouse or sponsor, but I recommend an accountability partner. Choose someone in your company who’s committed to remaining positive, who’s collaborative, and who’s working toward something similar as you! They don’t have to be on your team. Set a weekly talk time to inspire one another and share best practices, and celebrate successes! Social integration is powerful. Processing with positive people allows you to discuss and apply what you’re learning! Get an accountability partner right away and start goal setting today!

It’s up to you to create the vision that inspires action, which ultimately leads to accomplishment for you and your team.

One of the first steps to achieving success is to enlarge your vision. You have to see yourself rising to the top. You must see yourself gaining that promotion. You must see your business succeeding. You must conceive it and believe it is possible if you ever hope to experience it.

Joel Osteen shares this powerful story of the power of vision:

Envision Your Success- by Joel Osteen

From the time she was a little girl, Tara Holland dreamed of becoming Miss America. In 1994, she entered the Miss Florida pageant and won the title of first runner-up. She decided to try again the following year. She entered the same contest, and once again, won the prize as first runner-up. Tara was tempted to get down and discouraged, but she didn’t do that. She stayed focused on her goal.

She decided she needed to change her environment, so she moved to Kansas, and in 1997, she entered the Miss Kansas pageant and won the title. That same year, she went on to be crowned Miss America. Tara Holland saw her dream come to pass.

In an interview after the pageant, someone asked Tara the secret to her success. She admitted that after she had lost twice in a row at the state-level competitions, she had been tempted to give up, but instead she went out and rented dozens of videos of local pageants, state pageants, Miss Teen, Miss Universe, Miss World—whatever she could find. She rented hundreds of videos of various pageants and watched them over and over again.

As Tara watched each young woman crowned a winner, she pictured herself in that situation. She pictured herself receiving the crown. She pictured herself walking down the runway in victory. Time and time again she envisioned herself winning. Seeing herself as a winner, said Tara, was the key to her success. Another reporter asked her if she was nervous walking down the runway in front of millions of people watching on television and with the announcer singing the famous Miss America song. Tara’s response was interesting. “No, I wasn’t nervous at all,” she said. “You see, I had walked down that runway thousands of times before.”

Have you ever walked down that runway? Have you ever seen yourself accomplishing your dreams? Do you keep that vision of victory in front of you? Tara Holland knew she would never be a winner until she first saw herself as a winner. She had to reprogram her mind, to rid herself as much as possible of the hurtful memories of losing. She had to replace that vision in her mind of herself as Miss Runner-up. She had to develop a can-do attitude. She saw herself stepping onto the winner’s platform. She saw herself walking down that runway in victory. She created an environment of faith and success.

What you keep before your eyes will affect you. You will produce what you’re continually seeing in your mind. If you foster an image of defeat and failure, then you’re going to live that kind of life. But if you develop an image of victory, success, health, abundance, joy, peace, and happiness, nothing on earth will be able to hold those things from you.

What you think about, you will bring about. Map out your vision, write it down, artfully portray it with pictures, drawings or writings, post it where you’ll see it, share it with others…and began to believe for your victory each day!

Leading In The Midst Of Crisis- Leadership Lessons Of September 11

I will never forget the day I heard about the attacks on 9.11. I was in college, taking a nap, and my mother Kris came bursting into the room with tears: “Wake up, our nation is under attack”. That was a day that none of us will forget, and our lives were forever changed.

This unexpected, unimaginable tragedy brought conflict and pain to the lives of many. Through time, it also brought us closer together as a nation. What was intended to derail us completely actually unified us and made us stronger together.

We can learn so many lessons from that day. As a leader, I think about times where I’ve experienced conflict, and the choices that I’ve made in response—allowing these experiences to grow me, refine me, and to strengthen to my team.

Over the past 18 months I went through a frightening challenge with my health, a conflict in business, and a personal family tragedy that most will never have to experience. If I had to describe the past 18 months I would say, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”.

Why “the best of times,” you ask? Because what came from some of my toughest times were some of the greatest blessings of my life—greater unity with my husband, greater unity with my leaders, greater faith in my God, and all of this refined me into becoming the leader I was intended to be.

I was recently reading an article about how Rudy Giuliani reacted to the 9.11 tragedies, challenges and conflict that came from that day.

Regardless of your current political opinions, Rudy Guiliani’s leadership during 9.11 is something we can all learn from. In his book Leadership, he says, “It is in times of crisis that good leaders emerge.” I agree.

2.001

He shares four main things we must do in times of crisis as leaders:

BE VISIBLE

“While mayor, I made it my policy to see with my own eyes the scene of every crisis so I could evaluate it firsthand.”

During the times of my personal challenges and crisis I continued to be front and center for my team. It would have been easiest to stop doing training calls, and go into “hiding”. I chose to continue to lead with strength, and remain very visible. I kept systems in place for them to plug into, and kept them focused on the vision for what was ahead for us as a unified body.

BE COMPOSED

“Leaders have to control their emotions under pressure. Much of your ability to get people to do what they have to do is going to depend on what they perceive when they look at you and listen to you. They need to see someone who is stronger than they are, but human, too.”

No one knew what we were going through during that season of our life. I treasure my influence and I don’t take it lightly. My ability to cast a vision and lead a group to greatness is a responsibility. I believe that how I respond to situations is my responsibility as a leader. We stayed rooted and grounded in our responding—putting others first and showing them love even in the times where we needed it the most. Again, this period in my life refined me. Where I used to react, I now respond thoughtfully and carefully to each conflict or criticism that may come my way.

BE VOCAL

“I had to communicate with the public, to do whatever I could to calm people down and contribute to a orderly and safe evacuation [of lower Manhattan.]”

I prayed for opportunities to have the ability to have conversations with the right people when the time was right, all while staying calm and in control.  I didn’t gossip, fault find, murmur or complain. I focused on leading with integrity and strength.

BE RESILIENT

“I am an optimist by nature. I think things will get better, that the good people of America and New York City will overcome any challenge thrown our way. So in the face of this overwhelming disaster, standing amid sixteen acres of smoldering ruins, I felt a mixture of disbelief and confidence… that Americans would rise to this challenge.”

Although our leadership challenges can’t compare with the tragedies of 9.11, they can be enough to discourage, distract, or defeat our team. It is up to us to continue to set the pace, unify, and cast a vision for those we lead—and to forge ahead, and lead them to the places they’ve been longing to go regardless of situations and circumstances that we may be personally encountering, or encountering as a team.

How we respond to challenges in life refine us, mold us, and shape us into the people we are today. Good or bad, we can choose to dwell, or we can choose to live in forgiveness and in unity with those who choose to unify with this.

We will never forget the pain of that day. And I will never forget some of the painful experiences in my life. But what I have learned is that we have to continue to have vision for a greater future, and to continue to love and lead during our journey.

On this September 11 anniversary, what examples of leadership stand out in your mind?

The kids are back to school, and it’s time to get back to building your business bigger than you have before! The activity you start today can set you up for a debt free holiday, and a rewarding 2014. Start today!

3.001

As you think about where you want to end the year in your business, goal setting is a good idea. A great idea is to determine a plan on how you will get there.

How many of you are measuring the number of Customers or Consultants you brought on each month—or your title or check month end, without tracking your daily progress? We have to be proactive, and have a plan. Create your list—go through your phone, Facebook, and and memory joggers and set a goal of how many people you will talk to per day!

If you are serious about increasing your pace and seeing results, I want you to focus on tracking your daily activity for the next 90 days. This is what leads to the ultimate goal of higher titles, more volume, and bigger checks. You can’t control the title at the end of the month—but you can control your daily activity, which leads to the new recruits—which eventually leads to the title and volume goals. Here is what I want you to begin tracking, starting tomorrow:

1)   Prospecting and Presenting: 3 way calls, live meetings, or 1-on-1s you conduct each day!

-3 is a good goal, 5 is a great goal, 10 is an excellent goal

2)   Lifestyle Marketing and Passing Out Sample Packs

-Can you at least pass one sample, business card, or tool out per day when dropping the kids of at school, or when running an errand?

3)   NO’s! –because the no’s get you closer to a yes. When you know your own personal set of odds you’ll have a better idea of what it takes to double your results, and accelerate your pace. This also helps track results with your sponsor and to share what it truly takes with your team.

PERSONAL ACTIVITY and DAILY DISCIPLINED focus will be the cure to what ails you in your business—always! This will be what gets you to your goal in the next 90 days! To get you ready, I want you to do the following 3 things tomorrow:

1)   Set a plan with sponsor (if you want to set a regular talk time, you need to be committed to tracking your activity and come to the call with numbers and results!)

2)   Get a power partner- find someone working toward the same goal that you can talk about these numbers to weekly as well!

3)   Track daily activity- rain or shine, no matter the circumstances, no matter what! …FOR 90 DAYS!

HERE IS AN IDEA FOR A TRACKING SHEET THAT CAN HELP KEEP YOU ON TARGET=>

(*she’s sure it will be one of the best investments you make to ROCK your business!)

I’m getting extremely excited for the upcoming edition of Networking Times Magazine (our profession’s leading publication for Network Marketing Professionals). It will be talking about network marketers as social entrepreneurs!

Sir Richard Branson says as social entrepreneurs “We are stimulated by the desire to ensure business has a purpose beyond profit, also focusing upon people and the planet.” I believe many network marketing professionals and companies fit this description perfectly.

When I began my network marketing career, I was a kindergarten teacher who made an impact on the lives of the children in my classroom, but always had a dream of influencing many children’s lives around the world. Network marketing was a vehicle for us that provided the time freedom to volunteer and travel, as well as the financial freedom to contribute to causes that aligned with this vision.

We recently traveled with friends to open up orphanages in India. The entire time we remarked that if it weren’t for our network marketing business, we wouldn’t have been able to take the time off of work to go—much less could we have afforded cost of travel alone. We are so excited for our future plans to work with children around the globe! We are dreaming big!

It takes time and resources to make a great impact on the world, which is why I believe many social entrepreneurs are attracted to the network marketing profession as a vehicle to provide that. I look at my team alone, and the stories of people who are helping orphans, adopting children, feeding the hungry, and contributing to outstanding causes come in on a regular basis. In fact, our company holds nominations for special awards at our conventions to highlight the stories of those who are changing lives in a significant way.

Across our profession we see these stories as well—Jordan Adler, an author and top network marketing leader who donates the proceeds of his books to Kiva. My friend, Donna Johnson who started her own foundation called Spirit Wings Kids charity. Many companies give to people in need, and worthy causes on a regular basis. Ours has their own foundation to which they give a portion of their sales to very worthy causes. As distributors, we are also able to give and be a part of their mission of changing lives.

To be truly successful in the networking profession, one must have a passion to change lives, beyond their own. Your pour your time and talent into those you mentor, to help them find their purpose. As you obtain your own success you now have the time and resources above what you had to serve a greater purpose in the world.

My husband and I retired from our traditional careers in our 20’s, thanks to our network marketing business. People often ask us “you could retire from your network marketing business today—what keeps you going?” My response: “there’s still many more adult lives to be changed through our business model, and there’s many more little children’s lives to change all around the world! Network marketing is the vehicle that will take us there!”

Not to mention, it would be pretty boring to be completely retired at age 30, wouldn’t it? We are having far too much fun!

==> I’d love to hear from you: what are you or people on your team doing to contribute to worthy causes? I’d love to have more stories to share as to why network marketing leaders ARE social entrepreneurs. See you in the comments section below!

(*she’s sure it will be one of the best investments you make to ROCK your business!)

Hey there Rock Stars, Sarah “Rockin” Robbins here~ ready to ROCK your home business? I am too!

Our company is about to make major announcements in our business, and naturally, I’ve never been more excited about my business (I know you know the feeling). This brings me to today’s topic: How to ROCK Your Prospecting & Revisit Your List!

Every so often companies give us reason to reach out to people that we spoke to in the past with new news: new products, new promotions, new programs, recent events and expansion! It’s the perfect time to re-engage our audience and revisit our list.

Think of something that happened recently which created excitement in your company (the launch of a new product, program, promotion, expansion into another city, state or country, or a recent event)! This is your reason “why” you’re reaching out!

Take the next few days reaching out to your contacts (I’ll give you ideas below). And set a goal of reaching out to 3-5 per day! (daily activity is the cure to what ails you in your business!) Are you willing to do the work to ROCK your business? Let’s DO THIS=>

Here are some ideas of ways that you can ROCK your prospecting, and revisit your list:

Revisit your customers– “How are you loving your products? I’m not sure if I ever shared, but as a distributor of the products I get a great discount. I would love to get you on a program where you can get wholesale pricing too, and possibly earn your products for free or make a little money by sharing them with others. Do you have a few minutes where I can share more about how?” (share your business, and distributor discounts and benefits)

Revisit past prospects or former business builders—”I know the timing wasn’t right before, but if ever there’s a time to take another peek at the company, the time is now. Going into fall, business is booming as kids are back to school and we are back in business big time, followed by the boom of the holiday season—plus new products and promotions were recently launched. The time is now. I wanted to revisit and see if the time is right to take another look. I would hate for you to miss out.” (share what’s new and exciting)

Go through your phone and Facebook contacts– is it possible there’s people there that you haven’t reached out to yet? Call them: “I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I started a new business (tell them more about your product or service and your story in how you found it and why you’re excited about it). My business is building in your area, and I wanted to share it with you–and see if I could pick your brain and get ideas of how to build there, and who you know might be interested. Could I treat you to coffee (or virtual coffee with a coffee gift card) and tell you more?”

*after you share more, share your leader’s success story, and invite them to hear more from them. Third party validation and social proof is powerful: “I’m new, and I don’t want to mess this up. I’d love for you to hear from my business partner. She’ll be able to share more and answer your questions”.

Lifestyle Networking– Compliment/ Connect– Pass out Samples and Follow Up–  Look for ways to engage in conversation. Give someone a compliment.  Ask a lot of questions. (“Great service. Do you love your job?” or  “Cute kids. Where do they go to school?” etc)  Then leave them with a sample. “I’ve loved chatting with you today. I would love to leave you with this gift (tell them more about the sample, and what it does.) I promise you’ll love it. If you promise you’ll try it, I promise I’ll follow up!” Get their name, number, and tell them what time you’ll call, and write it on the card you leave with them. When you follow up: “How’d you love the product? Before I tell you more about it, I would love to tell you why I’m excited about my business!”

Parties/ Virtual Parties– Reach out to your friends and ask them to host an event for you: “My business is building in your area. I’d love to meet new people. Would you be willing to host an event for me? You invite the people, I’ll do all the work, and throw in some free product as a thank you!”

Social Media– we are paid story tellers. Mix up your personal and inspirational posts with a little bit of business every few days: lifestyle posts, congratulations and welcoming to new new distributors, or shout outs to people who made an achievement to edify that person, encourage your team, and engage and interest your FB audience. Share product tips and testimonials, along with before and afters.

If you find people aren’t interested–“No problem, I’d love to get you on our products and get great results. And do you know anyone who would be interested in my products or business? If so, I’d love to reward you for your referrals and  give you product for free as a thank you!”
