Hey there Rock Stars–let’s be honest, who rocked day 1 of #RYNMB30 (30 days to rock your network marketing business)? I did! I’m happy to say that I made my 2 new contacts yesterday, and as a result have one follow-up appointment, and one enrollment appointment this week!

It is my suggestion that you get an accountability partner to complete the challenge with, that you text your daily stats to: “How many people did you call today? I called my ‘two’! Who are your hottest prospects, and how can I help you reach out to them?” Keep it positive, and be honest! It so much easier to achieve a goal when you have someone to support you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. That’s why people hire personal trainers for their fitness goals!

Don’t forget to set your quarter one goals this week! Focus on the following 5:

1) How do you want to end March? What title will you be? What do you want your team volume to be?

2) How many people will you recruit per month? Write down these goals, and put it somewhere where you will see it, and your chances of succeeding will start to go up!

3) Just writing down a goal isn’t enough!   If you don’t have an action plan for how to achieve your goal and a way of measuring or tracking your progress, the chances you’ll actually see any results are slim. So–How many NEW people will you contact each day about your business? Remember: you must break that into daily activity goals (a minimum of 2 NEW contacts per day– I share who to contact, and how to contact them in my book Rock Your Network Marketing Business)! There is a tracking sheet to help you along on DAY 1 of the challenge.

4) What will this help you to achieve? Write down your “WHY” for Quarter 1. What will success this quarter mean to you, and your family. What will your life look like? What areas will you see improve? Many people set goals because they feel like they “should”, and never tap into the deeper reasons WHY they are motivated to achieve them.  If there’s no emotional power to a goal, it’s going to be very hard to get yourself to achieve it.

5) Don’t forget to share your goals with your spouse, sponsor, or your accountability partner. My husband Phil and I set a time to work on our business goals together, and we also discussed a few other categories for our goals Q1=> Faith, Family, Friends, Fitness/Health, Finances/Tithing/Giving, and Business and Ministry Goals!

Hey there, I’m Sarah Robbins, author of the best-selling book “Rock Your Network Marketing Business”! I’m also the #1 earner for my company, and began earning a six-figure per MONTH income at the ripe old age of 29, thanks to our powerful profession!

Goal setting and accountability has been the key to my success in my network marketing business. In fact, just this morning, my husband and I sat down to write out our goals for 2014=>

One of my goals for my network marketing business? To recruit a minimum of 2 new distributors per month! How will I get there? There’s no secret to success in network marketing- when you want your team volume & title to grow, you have to go into a 90 day recruiting blitz yourself! New people bring new activity and growth.

I can’t just say “I want to recruit 2 people this month”, and wait for it to happen (similarly, I can’t just say “I want to lose ten pounds” without tracking my water intake, calories, and exercise!) So I am going to be tracking my daily activity goals for the next 30 days (Jan 2-31) and do it every month afterwards.

My goal is to talk to 2 NEW people on my list or when I’m out every day (not calling back the same two people, but calling 2 new people that I’ve never spoken to before, in addition to following up with others). Why?

My friend Richard Brooke recently broke down it down like this:

Imagine if you invited just 2 NEW people per day to hear more about your business. If you did that you would have generated 14 invites per week –on a low average, this would lead to 3 who agree to join you on a 3 way call , to coffee, or to join you at a meeting or event.

On average, one out of those three will usually enroll to build. If you did this each week, this would lead you to 4 new partners per month–and about 50 per year, and 100 over the next 2 years.

On average if you enrolled 100 over the next 2-3 years, in 4-5 years you could likely generate a multi-million dollar organization with a potential 6-figure + income (based on industry averages). This would be about a $2,000,000 asset. (These averages can be true when you pick any legitimate company, with an average product).

Over the course of a few years, I followed this pattern, and by time I recruited over 100, I was earning a 7 figure income. (your results may vary depending on your progress, pace, and the progress and pace of those who join you too!)

I want to challenge YOU to invite 2 new people each day to take a look at what you do! Now you’re thinking “okay, so who do I talk to and what do I say?”, right?

If I told you that you’d get paid $500/invite, you’d find a way to invite 2 per day (with or without training on how to do it)–and you wouldn’t care how you got them, who it was, and you probably wouldn’t worry about what to say–you would find a way! Right?

The question is never “where” to find people (we are surrounded by people) the questions is if you are “willing” to talk to them, and invite them to learn more about your business…EVERY DAY!

If you consider the potential of growing your business to a $2 million asset –then  your 1,400 invitations (2 a day for 2 years) would each be worth $1,400 a piece (much more than $500!)  There’s great value in every invitation you make!

So it’s time to get into massive action–reach out and invite 2 NEW people each day (get out and go where the people are- reach out to your list- reach out to people on Facebook- pass out samples and cards) and invite, invite, invite!

I’m taking Richard’s challenge– and am focusing on doubling my business over the next 2 years (inviting 2  new people per day to learn more via call, coffee, meeting or event; and  in turn, recruiting 100 new distributors over the next 2 years!) Anyone else want to join me?

The Story of the Starving Baker

Have you heard the story about the starving baker? Imagine– there was a brand new, beautiful bakery built right down the road. The aroma of fresh pastries filled the air. This is where hot, delightful treats would be served all day long. You go in. This baker is brilliant. You order your treat, and watch as the baker does his thing! It is magnificent watching. He does everything himself. He cleans the tables, tends to the cash register, bakes the goods, and greets the guests. You start to notice that he’s surprisingly thin. You began to think, “he’s so busy baking for others, he’s forgetting to eat! He’s starving himself”.

 

Are you that starving baker? Most of us are so busy that we fall into starving baker mode. We get so wrapped up in our jobs, the house, errands, and everyone else and their matters that we never push “pause” and take the time to feed ourselves. We feel hollow. Sometimes we feel fake. You are not fake. What you are is a starving baker. You’ve gotten busy and you’ve stopped growing. We’ve all been there before.

Taking time for our personal and professional growth provides nourishment for our souls, and it fuels our minds. It makes us more effective for everyone in our lives we influence—our families, friends, and our teams. You can only go as far as you grow!

I like to spend time each morning devoting attention to my personal and professional growth! It’s the perfect way to power start my day! I don’t start or end my day with emails, TV, text messages, etc. I feed and fuel myself with prayer, devotions, reading personal and professional development materials, and listening to positive and uplifting music.  I even fill in the “empty time” when I drive listening to training CDs, and I make my car a “rolling university”.  I listen to things that teach me how to become a better person, and more effective leader. I am extremely intentional about my daily self-programming so I am more effective as a wife, friend, sister, daughter, and leader. My business can only grow as much as I do.

When blocking out your 10-15 hours of “income producing activity” per week in 2014 (sharing your products and business) be sure to schedule time for personal and professional development too! Remember—you must take control of your time, or your time controls you! The only one who creates your busy schedule is YOU! So outsource where you’re able (hire someone to clean your home, carpool, etc!) Make healthy “exchanges” where you can (it may be time to cut back or completely cut out TV programs). In the process, you are able to prioritize your time without sacrificing your “why” (time spent with friends and family!)

Your team and the profession can never love your family as much as you do. Your family needs you more than we do. You’ll have to learn to say “no”, learn how to balance and prioritize your time, and be willing to delegate to others on your team. Yes, we have to work hard to make strides in our business, and the rewards are worth it. But we have to keep our commitments to family and friends in check too, as relationships are the most valuable things we have–and the only thing that leave an eternal, generational, lasting effect.

To get ready for a rockin 2014, my hubby and I are scheduling time to set our personal and profession goals together, and create a goal board that touches upon our family goals, financial goals, faith based goals, personal goals, and professional goals. We will be working out our hours of operation together too–and will be sure to schedule in a lot of time for family, friends, and each other! I hope you’ll do this too!

Happy Holidays Rock Stars! Hope you’re having a great one! I love this time of year, as my top 2 volume producing leaders joined during the holiday season! It’s the perfect time of year to rock your network marketing business! People are looking to make extra money, pay down debt, and are starting to get into resolution mode (making money, bettering themselves) and you can provide the solutions to these common resolutions! In the spirit of the season, I want to share with you my “12 WAYS Of Networking”!

1) Work the Phones
Revisit your company memory jogger, your cell phone contacts, your Facebook friends, your service providers–who do you need to reach out to or revisit? Tell them about your December goal, and that you’re looking for referrals, and ask to share the opportunity with them! GET ON THE PHONE AND WORK THE PHONE!!!

2) Work Facebook
Direct message people on Facebook. Tell them the business is expanding in their area, and ask to connect by phone. Tell them about your “referral rewards program”. If they refer people on who sign, are you willing to give them a free product? One of our leaders Amy Byrd shared this tip on how to get digits on Facebook using this language via private message: “”Hi Joanna! I realize this is out the blue…. hope you’re well! I know you live in Utah & that market is an important area of growth for my business (company name) for multiple reasons. You may or may not have a personal interest, but either way I would love to tell you who I am looking for in the hopes you might know someone. Can you please shoot me your cell? I’m hoping you can help me & would love to catch up with you if nothing else. Congrats on your darling son! 10-15 minutes is all I need, as I’m sure that’s all you have time for as well right now. Thanks & I’ll drop you another message later next week if I don’t hear from you first.”

3) Network With Other Entrepreneurs
Talk to people you’ve done business with. Tell them about yours. Offer to cross network for one another, and share over coffee what you need!

 

4) Call Your Customers
Call your customers. Say “I know you’re loving your products, and I’m sure you’re getting tons of compliments. I wanted to share that if you join me as a consultant, you can actually get them at wholesale pricing, and when you share your results with others you can send them to your website, and actually earn when you refer them to your site and sign them up!”

 

5) Leverage Social Media to Tell Stories
Share success story videos, testimonials of consultants succeeding, tell people you are looking for leaders who want to put some extra “jingle” in their pocket. Also showcase product success stories–before and afters, testimonials!

 

6) Network During Your Holiday Errands
Thank people who give you great service. Strike up conversations with people in lines. Leave them samples and follow up!

 

7) Mingle and Jingle
Make sure you and your team are doing several events to share the products with your friends and family! Ask people to host events for you. Say: “”I am serious about expanding my business in <their city>. In exchange for free product, would you host an event for me?” You can always make these fun and festive for the holidays. Do as many events as possible! It’s not too late to plan an end of month event (a post holiday pampering day–or now that they’ve shopped for others, they can come and shop for themselves, mingle and relax!)

8) Fabulous Freebies
People love free stuff! Create your own holiday incentive for your teams to “pump up their volume”…and create your own holiday incentive for your customers who purchase from you or join your team month end!

 

9) Don’t forget to share your company’s specials this month! Share product promos, and bonuses and incentives.

10) Promote gift-giving

There is no better way to market your products and business than to get our goods in the hands of as many people possible. So, in addition to updating your prospect list this month, I want you to make your holiday gift-giving list, and then pick a product for each person on the list. We know that once people use our products, they’re hooked. And then they talk about it. It’s an important investment in your business!

11) Network During Holiday Parties You’re Invited To
Whether it’s a cocktail mixer, or a holiday event, when people surround you, it’s a great opportunity to collect contact information and connect with them later. Ask them a lot of questions. Get to know them better. Ask what they do. When asked about what you do: “We’re here to enjoy the party tonight. I would love to tell you more. <Let me quickly get your contact information> <What’s your email?> “As we expand here in <city> I’m always looking for people to join us. I’ll give you a call early next week and tell you a little more. You may or may not have a personal interest, but maybe you could lead me to just the right person. I’m looking for referrals.”

12) Finish December Strong! During the month of December it’s not uncommon for people to want to “wait until January” to join your team–here’s how to answer that:

“”This is the perfect time to earn extra holiday cash and set you up for an awesome New Year! It’s the best time to get started as you’ll get an end of year deduction for starting your business*, plus if you start now, and I will respect your pace–we can at least get you trained so you are ready to rock and roll with the rest in the New Year!” *Disclaimer: I’m not an accountant, nor am I qualified to give accounting advice. How To Rock Your Network Marketing Business With Customers!

Ready to ROCK your network marketing business? One of the keys to building a strong, sustainable business is developing a healthy sized, happy customer base. Why is this so important? Our business is built by the volume that is created by sales to an end customer—whether it be the distributors who are using the products monthly and getting great results, or happy customers who are loving their benefits!  When you’ve got an army full of people on auto ship, experiencing incredible results with your product that translates into big business!

Here’s 5 Top Tips On How To Find Customers:

1) Host events in people’s homes. My company isn’t a party plan company, but when I started my business, I hosted some events in my home to share the products and the opportunity. I knew if I had limited hours, I would rather spend 1 hour of my time in front of 10 or more people, opposed to talking to one person on the phone for an hour! It was a great way to build my business fast! When I saw the success these events brought, I began calling my friends and family saying, “I have a business that’s growing in your area, and I would love to meet new people. Would you be willing to host an event for me? You invite your friends, I will do all the work, and I’ll even throw in free product as a thank you”! This expanded my audience, increased my exposure, and helped me to secure more customers and leads for my business.

*HOT HOLIDAY TIP: Host holiday open houses! A little “Mingle & Jingle Event”?

2) Customer appreciation events are powerful. Once a quarter my local team and I did Friends, Family, and Customer appreciation events. In the evening we would do a “Cocktails and Conversations” type event. If it was during the day, we would call them “Coffee and Conversations”. Sometimes we would even host a luncheon. We would focus on sharing customer testimonials, highlight new products, do fun games, and drawings. And of course, we mentioned the opportunity and shared our business success stories!  Our friends, family, and customers would come and bring their friends! These fun networking-type events would pack the room for us! We always had tremendous results!

 *HOT HOLIDAY TIP: Thanksgiving is next week! Send out a newsletter (and post on social media) — a note of “Thanks” to your customers–highlight some of their before and afters, and testimonials! Share upcoming products, product specials, and more about your business, and how “Thankful” you are for it, and them!

3) Gift your products at every occasion. I am always looking for ways to get our products in people’s hands, whether it is the holidays, someone’s birthday, or as a thank you. I know if I can get them on the product, they’re hooked! Plus it’s an open door to a conversation about my business in the future when I follow up!

 *HOT HOLIDAY TIP: In addition to updating your prospect list this month, I want you to make your holiday gift-giving list this week. This is the time to gift some product to everyone on your list (friends, family, loyal customers, prospects, people who provide you services) because once people try it they are hooked. And then they talk about it. What a better way to “advertise” your products! Get your products now, label each item with your website and contact info, wrap it pretty, and get it on its way!

4) Social media and sharing stories are a great way to share your products. Use your product or service at all times. Make sure your family is too! Develop a lot of customer testimonials and share them. If applicable to your product, post before and after’s and testimonials on social media sites.

 *HOT HOLIDAY TIP:  Create digital campaigns or social media posts that highlight how people can look their best, and have a debt free holiday with you. Share your story about the business & products, other success stories, and how they can put some “jingle in their pockets” with your opportunity ! Be creative during these fun times: BLACK FRIDAY/ CYBER MONDAY– create your own specials/posts, THANKSGIVING — “thankful” note about what the products and/or opportunity is doing for you, DECEMBER–“give the gift of great products & glowing opportunity!”

Be sure to include a blurb about your business on your family cards or holiday newsletters too! Tis the season!

5) If your company offers samples, try using a sample pack approach. Look for ways to engage in conversation. Give someone a compliment.  Ask a lot of questions. (“Great service. Do you love your job?” or  ”Cute kids. Where do they go to school?”)  Then leave them with a sample and say, “I’ve loved chatting with you today. I would love to leave you with this gift (tell them more about the sample, and what it does.) I promise you’ll love it. If you promise you’ll try it, I promise I’ll follow up!” Get their name, number, and tell them what time you’ll call, and write it on the card you leave with them. When you follow up: “How’d you love the product? Before I tell you more about it, I would love to tell you why I’m excited about my business!” One of our top leaders Cindy was prospected this way and is now leading a rockin’ team. When she taught our team this approach, it created a huge wave of momentum for us!

 HOT HOLIDAY TIP: The following idea was shared by my business partner Natalia last year: “The Holiday Season brings two of my favorite things – shopping and sharing my business with others. I start at Black Friday and continue all season shopping, armed with samples and business cards. I tie them together with holiday ribbon and a cute mini candy cane! I hand them out while  shopping, to the people working retail that give great service!”

Customers are a gift that keeps on giving!

Put Some Jingle In Your Pocket- Network Marketing Holiday Training

Would some bonuses help you to have a debt free holiday? Would you like to put some extra “jingle” in your pocket as you finish out 2013? Building your network marketing business during this time of year can be fun, festive, and extremely profitable! Let me show you how!

Here are a few of my holiday tips from the top, for building your Network Marketing Business:

1.) Give people the gift of your products or service:
There is no better way to market your products and business than to get your goods in the hands of as many people possible. So, in addition to updating your prospect list this month, I want you to make your holiday gift-giving list, and then pick a product for each person on the list. You know that once people use your products, they’re hooked. And then they talk about it. They re-order, refer people on, and some may even join your team in the New Year!

Who to give the gifts to:
-Friends, family, co-workers, referral sources, your loyal customers, people who provide you services (mail person, realtor, hair/nail person, housekeeper, sitter, teacher, coaches, etc).

Now’s the time to make your list and check it twice!!!
Make a list of all the people you need to give a gift to, and remember–it’s marketing, and smart business! It doesn’t have to be expensive.

2) In addition to giving the gift of your product, be sure to Give the gift of financial opportunity to everyone you meet!

The Holidays are a Prospecting Paradise! So many people are looking for extra cash this holiday, and you could be holding their holiday miracle in your hands. So don’t be afraid to spread good cheer!

Prospecting At Holiday Events

The holidays are a fabulous time to network and capture leads. You reconnect with people you know, and it’s also a great time to meet new people as well. Holiday events provide countless opportunities to tell your story, your company story, capture contacts, set a date to follow up and get people started in the business or on the products.

Attend every event you’re invited to. Keep conversations casual and simple. I once heard people say that networking is like interviewing: just ask people a lot of questions like “where are you from?” “Do you have kids? How old are they?” “What do you do?” This way you build rapport and get people talking about what they love and are most familiar with! The conversation will always bounce back to you! And of course, be good about bouncing back to them—like the game of ping pong.

When someone asks you what you do, a good response would be:
“I am a teacher by trade, but my passion is my new business.”

Then tell your personal story sharing about how you started your business, what interested you most about the opportunity, and what it’s doing for you (or what you plan on it providing for you). Share other leaders success stories they may relate to. Keep it short and sweet. Then, set a date to share more.

You could say something like:
“We’re here to enjoy the party tonight. I would love to tell you more at a later time! Let me quickly get your contact information-What’s your number & email?”

Capture or confirm contact information then say:
“As we expand here in <city> I’m always looking for people to join us. I’ll give you a call this week and tell you a little more. You may or may not have a personal interest, but maybe you could lead me to just the right person. I’d love to pick your brain and get ideas on how to expand my business here. I’m looking for referrals as we expand in <city>. ”

Learn to comfortably combine socializing with friends and family, meeting new people, enjoying the party, and capturing leads! Don’t miss these opportunities to share your passion for your business and products.

Prospecting When Out and About

The holidays are the perfect time to POWER PROSPECT as everyone is out and about. When you interact with a sales clerk, bank teller, waiter or waitress, thank them for their service and say: “Thanks for your awesome service today. We are looking for people like you for our business. I know you’re at work, but I would love to reconnect later tonight and tell you who we are looking for. What is a good time and number to reach you when you get home?” Then, follow up!

When you meet people out and about doing their holiday errands, strike up conversation. Before you leave say: “It was so great meeting you today. Earlier you mentioned you were from <city> and I have a business that is expanding there. I would love to stay in touch, talk at a later time, and get some ideas from you, and see if you know anyone who would be interested in partnering with us. What is a good time and number to reach you this week?” Then, follow up!

The Fortune is in the Follow Up

Don’t forget that the fortune really is in the follow up. So after you have these great conversations, be sure you send a quick email or Facebook message saying:“It was nice to see you, and I look forward to speaking to you again this week.” Then, call them!

Set Some Networking Goals For Yourself in November and December:
• How many leads would you like from each party, or each time you are out and about?
• How many business cards will you hand out that day? Put that number of cards in your wallet to keep yourself accountable.

3) Don’t forget to host your own holiday events too! 

Host your own holiday open houses, and reach out to your friends and ask them to host an event for you too. Say: “My business is building in your area. I’d love to meet new people. Would you be willing to host an event for me? You invite the people, I’ll do all the work, and throw in some free product as a thank you!”

Share the products and your business. We are in the party season, and people are in the mindset of getting and giving gifts! So it’s the perfect time to mingle and jingle, and hold fun and festive events!

Distributors who add in events experience the biggest amount of growth during the holiday season. Get with your team, and plan events the first 3 weeks of November and December. This is how you will keep attracting customers and distributors. A good theme for November: A “Friends and Family Appreciation Event” since it’s the month of thanks…invite your friends, family, prospects, and valued preferred customers. Promote that you are doing raffles and giveaways, and fun product demos! December: do a “Mingle & Jingle Event (*On the invites, be sure to incentive them to bring a friend: ie, bring a friend, get entered to win a treat! The more, the merrier!)

Make it fun, and keep it festive! Share your product story & more about your products. Share your business story & more about your business. Many of your guests are looking to make money for the holidays, and are making resolutions to live better. People are in the “party mood”, “gifting mood”, so these are the perfect months to host events, or ask  friends to host one for you as you “expand into their city”! It’s also a great way to maximize your time and get your business in front of a lot of people at once!

Remember- now is the perfect time of year to share, as people are already thinking of their New Years Resolutions to:
• Better themselves
• Start a business
• Earn more money & erase holiday debt
•The Network Marketing Profession can provide the SOLUTIONS to these New Years RESOLUTIONS!

How to Break A Plateau (Or Set a New Record) In Your Network Marketing Business

There’s no secret to success in network marketing- when you want your team volume & title to grow, you have to go into a 90 day recruiting blitz yourself! New people bring new activity and growth.

My friend Richard Brooke recently broke down the “how to” in a simplified way like this:

Imagine if you invited just 2 NEW people per day to hear more about your business. If you did that you would have generated 14 invites per week –on a low average, this would lead to 3 who agree to join you on a 3 way call , to coffee, or to join you at a meeting or event.

On average, one out of those three will usually enroll to build. If you did this each week, this would lead you to 4 new partners per month–and about 50 per year, and 100 over the next 2 years.

On average if you enrolled 100 over the next 2-3 years, in 4-5 years you could likely generate a multi-million dollar organization with a potential 6-figure + income (based on industry averages). This would be about a $2,000,000 asset. (These averages can be true when you pick any legitimate company, with an average product).

I want to challenge YOU to invite 2 new people each day to take a look at what you do! Now you’re thinking “okay, so who do I talk to and what do I say?”, right?

If I told you that you’d get paid $500/invite, you’d find a way to invite 2 per day (with or without training on how to do it)–and you wouldn’t care how you got them, who it was, and you probably wouldn’t worry about what to say–you would find a way! Right?

The question is never “where” to find people (we are surrounded by people) the questions is if you are “willing” to talk to them, and invite them to learn more about your business…EVERY DAY!

If you consider the potential of growing your business to a $2 million asset –then  your 1,400 invitations (2 a day for 2 years) would each be worth $1,400 a piece (much more than $500!)  There’s great value in every invitation you make!

So it’s time to get into massive action–reach out and invite 2 NEW people each day (get out and go where the people are- reach out to your list- reach out to people on Facebook- pass out samples and cards) and invite, invite, invite!

I’m taking Richard’s challenge– and am focusing on doubling my business over the next 2 years (inviting 2  new people per day to learn more via call, coffee, meeting or event; and  in turn, recruiting 100 new distributors over the next 2 years!) Anyone else want to join me?
